ZAC EFRON AND TAYLOR SWIFT DO IT… I MEAN DUET

By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com

Zac Efron and Taylor Swift recently appeared on Ellen to talk about their voicing roles on the upcoming animated film The Lorax and ended up singing a little ditty together. A super adorable re-working of Foster The People’s Pumped Up Kicks to be exact.

Honestly, I could watch this for dayz.

Seriously. How cute are these two?! And Efron’s got a great set of chops.

WENDY WILLIAMS EMOTIONALLY BREAKS OVER THE DEATH OF WHITNEY HOUSTON

By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com

I’ve held back on covering the death of Whitney Houston — mainly because I knew within seconds of getting that first text message that she had passed, that we would be saturated with news clips and reels (both true and false), and I wasn’t sure I felt like adding to the media mess.

But upon seeing this emotionally heartfelt video by Wendy Williams, I knew that I had to post. Wendy has always struck me as a fun-loving, drag-queen-like personality (over the top and anything but serious), but in this clip when she spills her soul for the world to see, somewhere in the midst of the storm this death has caused, you see nothing but a genuine, down-to-earth woman emerge with compassion pouring like the mascara on her cheeks. Her words are so beautiful and real it actually made me cry.

And to everyone leaving comments regarding Whitney’s death…

What is it about celebrities dying that makes you people turn into such assholes? They are people, too. Incredibly talented people and not any of the awful things you choose to call them. Yes, Whitney had problems with drugs and alcohol. She was a f*cking human being. Just like the rest of us. With feelings, pain, and imperfections. It’s really inhumane and disgusting to see some of you turn someone’s death into a joke. It makes me sick to my stomach actually. Get some manners! Better yet, get a heart.

Watch Wendy’s emotional segment below.

RIP, Whitney…

Your music touched our lives in deeply personal and profound ways.

MADONNA RIDING LMFAO = EPICSAUCE

By: Rob Brayl

Madonna owned that stage like a motherf*ckin’ boss!

Honestly, this was the best halftime show in…I dunno, ever?!

Besides the sweet notion of dedicating her performance to her father, a man of Midwestern values who she says is the reason behind her work ethic, my favorite quote from Madonna’s Super Bowl Press Conference was when a young man asked M if she had any advice for artists young in their career.

This was her response:

“If you don’t believe in what you’re doing and you don’t have passion for what you’re doing, quit right now — because anything worth having and accomplishing is gonna be hard. And there’s gonna be a lot of people trying to bring you down or tell you that you can’t, so have faith in yourself — that’s number one — and number two: Don’t take anything personally.”

BABY BLUE MAKES CHART HISTORY ON JAY-Z’S ‘GLORY’

By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com

At less than a week old, Blue Ivy Carter is already making chart history, thanks to a slick feature on daddy Jay-Z’s Glory. (Some kids have all the luck.)

According to Billboard, Baby Blue (or B.I.C., as Beyonce/Jay-Z’s daughter is credited on the track) is the youngest person to ever land on the chart in history. The track is currently sitting at #74 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. Since Blue Ivy was born late on Saturday, it is likely that she was only hours old when her voice was recorded for the song.

The heartfelt song about fatherhood was produced by Pharrell.

With references to Bey’s previous miscarriage and his own absent father, Jay-Z doesn’t hold back the heartbreak on the otherwise joyous tune.

Personally, I find this vulnerable side of Jay-Z to be completely refreshing!

Congrats to Beyonce and Jay-Z on the birth of their baby girl!

B.o.B / ANDRE 3000 YUMMY GOODNESS

By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com

This is my jam!!!

Before B.o.B exploded all over radio, back in the early mixtape days, the rapper drew comparisons to hip hop prodigy Andre 3000 — and finally, on B.o.B’s latest single, Play the Guitar, you can hear the two forces collide.

Sampling Bob Marley’s 1973 classic I Shot the Sheriff and T.I.’s verse on Drake’s Fancy, the rambunctious track (produced by Salaam Remi) is pure gold. The song was recently released on iTunes and is the next single off of Bobby Ray’s upcoming Strange Clouds LP.

And to finalize the glory of this tune, while keeping it brief: 3000 got a big ol’ rap d*ck. (Listen to the song, people. Only then will this make sense!)

Play. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat.

BROOKLYN IS THE BEE’S KNEES, OBVI

By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com

OK, guys. So y’all know how much I like this cholita, right? Well, yeah. I pretty much think she’s the bee’s knees! But up until recently I had not seen interviews with this Brooklyn bombshell, the fly glamour girl who stole our hearts with the nostalgic Video Games.

That’s starting to change now that the buzz surrounding Lana Del Rey is building into a full-fledged swarm.

Fresh off the press is the release date of her debut album Born To Die, which is set to drop on January 31, 2012 via Interscope Records. Video Games (Lana’s first single) hit the #1 position on iTunes in 9 countries, including the UK, Australia, Holland and France.

Says Lana: “The songs I’ve written are an homage to true love and a tribute to living life on the wild side.”

A new music video for the title-track, Born To Die, is being shot and will be released in the near future, concept conceived by Lana herself and directed by Woodkid.

Interview + audio below.

Oh! And for all those people bashing this girl, check yourself before you wreck yourself! God, I’m so full of wizdum it’s not even funny.

DRIZZY DRIZZLE DRAKE WAS ROBBED!

By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com

As you’ve probably already heard (since it’s like groundbreaking news and all, obvi), People has named Bradley Cooper the new ‘Sexiest Man Alive’. Nothing wrong with Coop Scoop, but these lists are predictable, boring and need to diversify stat! As usual, it’s 98% white dudes. Only one man of flavor. I know it’s a stupid list that has no merit but People seriously needs to get with the times. For crying out loud, would it kill them to throw some spice into the mix?

I know there’s some ludacris protestors outside of People’s headquarters for Ryan Gosling, but personally my vote goes for this man.

Unlike Kanye, the only bling Drake needs is his pearly whites au naturale.

Diamond smile FTW!

THE SCARIEST THING I’VE EVER SEEN: JUSTIN BIEBER MEATLOAF FACE!

By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com

No, you’re not stuck in a vegan nightmare. This is actually a Bieber face cake, made out of ground beef and bacon (precisely placed for that magical Bieber hair allure). I’m assuming the teef are onions and the eyes are olives? This is worse than Paranoid Activity 3!!! Totally creepy.

Something that isn’t creepy is the fact that JB is the first artist on Universal Music’s roster to ever donate a portion of the proceeds from an album (with his new holiday effort, Under The Mistletoe) to charity.

That’s pretty cool.

GIRLS WHO ADD “SEXY” TO EVERY HALLOWEEN COSTUME IDEA IMAGINABLE

By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com

The More You Know!

Girls, listen up. You can’t always add “sexy” to every Halloween costume and make it work. Example: What are you? Oh, I’m an aborted fetus. A SEXY aborted fetus! See. It ain’t always cute. Please take note and save yourself the embarrassment of looking unsexy.

Hope no one thinks my sense of humor is insensitive. Just trying to be a good samaritan and help a few ho-bags out! Please don’t bitchslap me. Thanks.

Speaking of ho-bags…

A FEW REASONS TO LOVE ADAM LAMBERT

By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com

1. The below quote. I mean, hello. Even after massive fame and success, the boy’s still on planet earth. He needs to teach this to a few of his pop counterparts! *Cough* Lady Gagaroni *Cough*

2. He doesn’t take himself too seriously. This is obvious shit when you watch the recent interviews below with Heidi Klum! Speaking of loving someone. I love that hot little blonde twiglet!

3. His talent outweighs his shoes and makeup. I know it’s a close call, but I’m into science and statistics and stuff and it totally outweighs it! I used a scale, people. Do not question me!

4. The dude gives back, y’all.

And finally, if you agree with me, please retweet the heck outta this article. I mean, really annoy the crap out of your Facebook and Twitter friends by posting this article on a loop around the clock. I’m thinking every 30 minutes until Adam Lambert sees it for himself. Don’t act like it’s not possible, little elves!

For the record, I think the reasons listed above make Adam totally dope.

(Forgot to mention that I’m anxious to hear new material from Adam. Duh.)

“I feel like the [gay fans] that I meet are the ones that kind of feel weird. I pick up this kind of energy among young people that it might not be the coolest thing to say you like Adam Lambert’s music. People don’t think that I’m cool. So I love that I have the kids who are like ballsy enough to be like, ‘Fuck it, I like Adam’s music.’ I mean, I am kind of a nerd. I feel like there’s a collective eye-roll when it comes to me, in the media and just in general consciousness — with the exception of my amazing Glamberts, my hard-core fans who are the opposite.”

JOJO WERKS IT W/ HEARTSOUL FASHION

By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com

JoJo has been looking fly as all get out lately and recently took her fashion game to a new level. Stopping by HeartSOUL headquarters, the soulful pop songbird embarked on a private tour before a photoshoot and interview. In the below clip JoJo dishes on fashion but most importantly, she speaks a bit on her much anticipated album, Jumping Trains. (Which, let’s face it, is all us JoJo fans really care about.)

“My new album ‘Jumping Trains’ has definitely been a labor of love. It’s been my heart and soul, not to be really corny but I really put everything into this and it’s really a reflection of my truth and the things that I talk to my girlfriends about. It’s a good time.”

Watch the clip below.
