THE WORLD’S MOST BEAUTIFUL WOMAN? BEYONCE, OBVIOUSLY.

“I feel more beautiful than I’ve ever felt because I’ve given birth. I have never felt so connected, never felt like I had such a purpose on this earth.”

LP COVERS BEYONCE LIKE A CHAMP!

By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com

Not everyone can cover Beyonce like a champ! But then again, not everyone is up-and-coming singer-songwriter LP. Like numerous other artists in the business (Bruno Mars, anyone?), L.A.-based LP got her start writing songs for some pretty big names. Most recently, she helped to co-write Rihanna’s feel-good single Cheers (Drink to That).

If the vocals of Linda Perry and Stevie Nicks had a lovechild, the offspring would be LP. Yes, that’s an uberphat (I think I just made up a word) compliment!

LP’s debut five-song CD + DVD package, titled Into The Wild (Live At EastWest Studios), is set to drop on April 24th. You can also catch her television debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live on April 25th.

Prepare for takeoff!

BABY BLUE MAKES CHART HISTORY ON JAY-Z’S ‘GLORY’

By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com

At less than a week old, Blue Ivy Carter is already making chart history, thanks to a slick feature on daddy Jay-Z’s Glory. (Some kids have all the luck.)

According to Billboard, Baby Blue (or B.I.C., as Beyonce/Jay-Z’s daughter is credited on the track) is the youngest person to ever land on the chart in history. The track is currently sitting at #74 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. Since Blue Ivy was born late on Saturday, it is likely that she was only hours old when her voice was recorded for the song.

The heartfelt song about fatherhood was produced by Pharrell.

With references to Bey’s previous miscarriage and his own absent father, Jay-Z doesn’t hold back the heartbreak on the otherwise joyous tune.

Personally, I find this vulnerable side of Jay-Z to be completely refreshing!

Congrats to Beyonce and Jay-Z on the birth of their baby girl!

BEYONCE’S ‘LIVE AT ROSELAND’ DVD WILL MAKE YA SHED A TEAR

By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com

I was lucky enough to be in the audience while this was being shot. Yup, I was there! Get it? I was there! Anyways, I totally cried. The song is Beyonce’s most moving, in my opinion — so feeling that, while being there in the moment was emotional overload. I’m not even kidding.

Beyonce’s Live At Roseland: Elements of 4 DVD is out now!

See the beautiful moment transpire below.

WEIRD COVER: THE HORRORS TAKE ON BEYONCE’S ‘BEST THING I NEVER HAD’

By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com

The Horrors recently hit up BBC Radio 1, covering Beyonce’s Best Thing I Never Had. The arrangement mixed with frontman Faris Badwan’s vocals sends the breakup anthem into a disheveled indie rock state of mind.

It’s random, bizarre and unexpected, and that’s what makes it so cool.

I dig.

LIVE BLOGGING: WACK-A-DOODLE THOUGHTS WHILE WATCHING 2011 VMAs

Ok, Gaga makes one creepy old man! Adele’s WTF face in the audience was priceless and my thoughts exactly. But what else is new? Same ridiculous crap.

Nicki Minaj’s outfit is epic…epically HORRENDOUS. Gurl bye.

Pitbull… Get it, papi! Latinos always bring the heat!

Adele’s performance, with nothing but a microphone and a piano, has exposed the sham that is 90% of the other acts that have performed so far tonight. The woman knows real music, heartbreak, and what true beauty is all about. Gorgeous!

LOVE this shot!

This shot is purely for shits & gigs. Totally cracks me up! Get it, gurl!

Sir Paul McCartney in da house! He was so normal, it was weird. Yup! He applauded, squealed, and videotaped with his iPhone like every other person. King giving Queen a standing O.

The definition of BEYAUTIFUL.

The lasers were freakin’ awesome!

Totally teared up when she performed ‘I Was Here’! Breathtaking.

Cool Bey portrait! Kinda creepy?

BEYONCE GETS INTIMATE WITH ‘4’ SHOWCASE, ROSELAND BALLROOM [VIDS]

By: Rob Brayl

Some people’s lives are changed in normal ways — ya know, graduating college, buying a home, plopping out a baby. But me? My life was changed this weekend at a Beyonce concert.

Not just any Beyonce concert, mind you. This concert was the real deal — Beyonce, like she’s never been seen before, in an intimate setting, a small venue to truly capture the bootylicious essence we all know and love. But beyond the dance numbers, Beyonce’s heart and soul came bursting through and by the end of the show — when she sang my personal favorite ‘I Was Here’ — I found myself moved to tears.

I feel so blessed to have a part of such an intimate rare Beyonce experience.

The night was taped and will be released on an upcoming DVD/TV special I do believe.

And as expected, the show was absolutely incredible.

Watch some videos I shot from the show below.

I hope each of you get a chance to see this woman perform live once in your lifetime.

And oh! I guess I should also point out that Sir Paul McCartney was in attendance and even gave Bey a standing ovation. Get it, gurl! Even royalty is taking notice of your brilliance.

BEYONCE LOVES HER ‘BRAVE’ GAY FANS + THE DREAM OF DIANE WARREN’S OPUS

By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com

“If anyone is brave and true to themselves, it’s my gay fans. The amount of confidence and fearlessness it takes to do what maybe is not what your parents expect you to do or what society may think is different – to be brave and be different and be true to yourself – is just so beautiful. It’s the most beautiful thing you can be, and it’s what we all want to be at the end of the day. And not worrying about satisfying or becoming what other people think you’re supposed to be, that’s like the ultimate dream – to just be that brave.”

The incredible I Was Here (my personal favorite from 4) opus below. It brought me to tears the first time I heard it — it’s a beaut. Random “cute” clip following, because I felt it fit the aesthetic quite nicely.

TARGET FLASHMOB GETS BEYONCE-FIED!

By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com

The flashmob to end all flashmobs…

Yo Target peeps, is it possible to incorporate flashmobs into the Target shopping experience? Perhaps a “Flashmob Friday” event, to go with your sale on toilet paper and those weird breath strip thingys that taste like cough syrup-y crap then vanish on your tongue (or whatever random items are on sale for that particular weekage)? Hello! That’s a good idea? No?

Just a thought.

Please note: The awesome clip you’re about to see was choreographed by Todrick Hall, who is best known as being a finalist on Season 9 of American Idol.

OBSESSED!

THANKS FOR THE B-DAY GIFT, BEYONCE

Beyonce’s new album 4 drops today!

Yup, today is my birthday. It’s a sign!

If you have not heard the record, get on it. The album is Beyonce’s bottle of wine, polished in a mature and chill way that’s never been showcased on previous efforts.

Rolling Stone said it best:

“Beyonce’s new album 4 is a change of pace for the R&B queen. While her first three solo albums were full of blockbuster jams, 4 is a more relaxed, personal set that emphasizes ballads over bangers and showcases the singer’s nuances; it’s very much the sort of album a pop star makes when she doesn’t feel like she has anything to prove.”

Watch a recent performance below.

*Note: This is a clip from BK’s recent Glastonbury show that aired on BET.

As usual, she murders.

LOOK AT ME, I’M CUTE! FT. CHARICE

By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com

Cuteness coma!

Earlier this week, I had heard some rumble over Charice deleting her Facebook account. Apparently it was due to the fact that some haters were throwing around the “F” word on her page, spreading negativity. And no, I don’t mean that “F” word. I mean this one — three letters, also spelled with a PH. Yep, FAT.

Honestly, myself and BTB as a whole, we really don’t care about that. Why? Because all that matters is what happens when Charice hits the stage, and rips it to shreds with her ferocious vocal ability.

The only fat thing about Charice is her raw talent and her adorability factor. Those things combined are pretty obese! I think I can speak for the majority of the population (at least those with workable eyes and unclogged ears) when I say that Charice, honey, you’re all that and a bag of chips! (Do people still say this? Oh well, I just did!)

And listen, not to get all Bruno Mars-y but you’re beautiful…just the way you are!

Check out the new lyric video for Louder + one of my favorite Charice performances (covering Beyonce’s Halo) following.

BASKING IN THE BUTTER OF BEYONCE

By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com

You can thank me for that headline by cash, paypal, or personal checks.

To anyone out there who has dealt with a douchey ex, this one’s for you…

B’s out with the second single from her upcoming album 4, the Babyface-penned ballad, Best Thing I Never Had. Like the classic Irreplaceable, the track is about a painful breakup that turns out for the best. The triumphant song features Beyonce singing of no regrets: “When I think of the time that I almost loved you/You showed your ass, and I saw the real you/Thank God you blew it, thank God I dodged a bullet/I’m so over you, so baby good lookin’ out…you turned out to be the best thing I never had.”

Best Thing I Never Had follows the booty shakin’ lead single Run the World (Girls), which she performed for the first time live on the 2011 Billboard Awards. In addition, Beyonce also recently performed new song 1+1 last Thursday on American Idol. Many speculated that 1+1 would be the official second single but that’s not the case.

The official second single is Best Thing I Never Had.

Bey’s new album is set to be released on my birthday (June 28). Woo!Best Thing I Never Had by Beyoncé

Some artists need gimmicks to put on a show.

Beyonce just needs a set of high heels & a fierce beat.

BEYONCE PREMIERES THE VIDEO FOR ‘RUN THE WORLD (GIRLS)’ + 4 COVER

By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com

Bey is bringin’ out the big guns in the just-released music video for Run the World (Girls). The first single from her upcoming album 4, the clip premiered on the May 18th episode of American Idol.

The in-your-face video features pyrotechnics, wild hyenas (among other animals), and Beyonce flashing the middle finger, getting her sexy on in the sand. Directed by Francis Lawrence (Water for Elephants), the clip also features Mozambican kwaito dance group Tofo Tofo, who was sought out as inspiration for the video’s moves by Queen B herself.

Good to see you again, B.
