ATLAS GENIUS

Australian-based band, Atlas Genius, is leisurely but confidently taking the States by storm. Their single Trojans is developing substantial airplay, and will without a doubt be played in every Abercrombie & Fitch dressing room across the map. Trust me, this is not a bad thing.
Although this track was released in the spring, it sometimes takes a while for bands to pick up speed. This is one of those songs that I had heard time and time again before finally grabbing my attention and forcing me do some research. The four-piece fit right in with bands such as Young the Giant and Grouplove in that uplifting indie category. Their debut EP, Through the Glass, is available for purchase now. The disc is compacted with dance imbued drums and addictive vocal melodies.
Although there may not be anything astoundingly inventive here, it still has that catchy factor that is undeniable. I am confident that these Aussies can find their footpath into a bit more pioneering empire than the visibly genre-influenced one their debut resides with.
