Chances are, you probably had no idea that a Rihanna club banger could sound so pretty. This is where Ellie Goulding comes in. Recently, the UK songbird performed a string-heavy cover of the smash hit in a way that only she can, a way that stains the song with a hue of emotion.

Goulding is one of the UK’s breakout acts of 2010. Her debut album Lights spawned three top 40 hit singles. Here’s to hoping that she will eventually be pushed and promoted to audiences in the states because she is a definite force.
