It’s not often that an artist comes around pouring vocals as smooth as honey, from lips on a frame that is just as unexpected as the sound itself. But then again, not every artist is Adele.

When I first heard Adele, it was as if someone had blew the dust off my broken heart. Yes, I’m aware that sounds like such a thing a writer would say, but in this case, I’m sticking to my guns (for it’s the uninhibited truth). Adele is a rare exotic gem in a sea of pop star Barbies who adorn nothing but a plastic stereotypical surface, wearing lackluster souls.

Adele is gorgeous on the inside and out and I think I speak for the bundles of beings who have been touched by her work when I say that I love and cherish her dearly.

Recently, she performed a track from her upcoming sophomore disc 21 (in stores Feb. 22) and the performance literally brought me to tears. It might actually be the performance of the year. And all that was required was a piano, a microphone, and one hell of a phoenix, whose talent is untouchable. No smoke. No mirrors.
