Exactly what is a “stanky face”, JoJo?
Earlier this year, as I was rambling about being a sober nutcase, I began my search for new material from JoJo. It led to a bit of campaigning on my part, hoping someone, anyone would fill us fans in on what was going on in JoJo-ville. But basically, I think I speak for all of JoJo’s supporters when I say, we really just wanted the music and stat!
The day has finally arrived, my friends.
Whatever drama/barricade used to postpone new material from the 19-year-old seems to be disolving, with new music finally revealing itself in the just-released Can’t Take That Away From Me mixtape. Production includes giants: Chad Hugo of The Neptunes, Kenna, Neff-U, Oak, Beau Dozier, and Jordan Gatsby, who produced the lead track In the Dark.
She told Rap-Up.Com that although the mixtape explores new territory that it doesn’t necessarily determine the sound on her upcoming album, All I Want Is Everything.
In a blog post discussing the mixtape JoJo wrote: “In releasing this mixtape, I’m affirming that even though some have tried they CAN’T TAKE THAT AWAY FROM ME. What is THAT? My voice, my spirit, my drive, my dreams. As you listen to these songs, I hope that they make your head nod, your mind tick, your emotions move, your belly laugh, and maybe elicit a ’stanky face’ or something Lol.â€
