STATING THE OBVIOUS: RICKY IS GAY

Ricky Martin has finally came out of the closet and admitted to being gay. In more shocking news–the sky is blue.
In all seriousness, kudos to Ricky! He is a wonderful daddy to his beautiful twin boys and a great role model, spending countless hours in the arena of humanitarian efforts, specifically the exploitation of children in human trafficking rings.
He may have a fine bon bon, but where it counts Ricky is truly a beautiful human being and that is why I admire him so. Check out a clip of Martin in an interview explaining the horrific crime that is human trafficking, below.

OMG he’s gay?! Really?! I had no clue!!!
Is it just me but I think it’s clearly for press? I understand he has a book and cd coming out soon?

I mean he has a song with “bon bon” in the title hello!
could def be for press but either way good for him in finally realizing who he is and accepting it and not being afraid to show his true colors to fans
yay for ricky! i really admire his work outside of music and this was a great interview showcasing that

Though we all knew it, his coming out is still powerful. Whereas before it was something he hid, now it is something he acknowledges. Celebrities can say “It was never really a secret…” but to say it outloud is take away the power from those who would use it against us.
“It was never really a secret…” = “It was never really an issue…”
And it really shouldn’t be [an issue]. Into men, into women, into both at the same time; that’s really his deal. Glad he can say it proudly, frustrated that he used it as a publicity stunt, but RB is right, kudos to Mr. Martin either way.
(I’d give Mr. Cooper kudos for coming out too, if he ever felt it necessary to make such an announcement. But like I said, it’s his deal. )
