If you’re a loyal follower of BTB (thank you btw) you should know that I have a thing for sweet blonde country crooners (see below). And one of my favorites has just returned.

Carrie Underwood’s new track “Cowboy Casanova” was co-written by Underwood with Brett James, who wrote Underwood’s hit “Jesus, Take the Wheel,” and Mike Elizondo, who, get this–is most known for his work with Eminem, Jay-Z and Dr. Dre. WHAT IN THE HELL! I definitely DID NOT see this one coming. Major kudos to Underwood!

Underwood has also written material with R&B singer Ne-Yo & pop hitmakers Max Martin and Kara DioGuardi.

“Play On” will be released on November 3rd. You can listen to the just-released track here.

THE MAN BEHIND THE MUSIC OF J.J. ABRAMS & PIXAR

Often, the teams behind the scenes in the world of entertainment deserve a lot more credit for their contributions.

If you haven’t already, meet composer Michael Giacchino. He’s the man! Besides recently delivering the brilliant score for J.J. Abrams’ STAR TREK, Giacchino also composed the score to LOST, as well as the song ROAR (which was used in the ending credits for J.J.’s CLOVERFIELD). Besides his amazing work on projects for Abrams, he’s also created music for Pixar’s UP soundtrack (as well as The Incredibles and Ratatouille). Amazing.

Check out Giacchino discussing the scoring of the hit TV show LOST above, followed by an adorable clip from Pixar’s UP below.

[SIDENOTE:I cannot wait for Cloverfield 2!!! I'm a little obsessed with that movie. Oh! And if you're reading this Michael-Stahl David--stop stalking me! Or at least say hi. Perhaps it's The Secret but I see the kid all the damn time in Manhattan...ok two times, but still.]

MADONNA (THE COUGAR) HIRES KIDS FOR ‘CELEBRATION’ MUSIC VIDEO

The 52-year-old Mommy/cougar has hired her kids–model/boyfriend Jesus Luz (22) and daughter Lourdes (12) for the just-released music video for CELEBRATION.

Initially this song just didn’t tickle my fancy & in some ways it still doesn’t…but leave it to Madonna to win an audience over with a killer music video, knee high boots, and a cougar kiss.

Oh! And like I previously reported, the single REVOLVER with Lil Wayne will be on the disc. HOLLER! (Does anyone say holler anymore?)

Check out M’s CELEBRATION below.

MARY J. BLIGE SERVES UP MORE THAN BLING & BOOTY

From ghetto to glamorous, gritty to glorious, Mary J. Blige always leaves a mark.

There’s never been a doubt in my mind, that Mary J. knows what’s truly important in life. And she continues to spill her heart onto our eardrums and it NEVER gets old. Always pretty. Always meaningful. Always serving the world of hip hop with more depth than bling & booty.

She got soul & she’s a soldier!

Mary J.’s new single STRONGER is the title track off The Bronx R&B singer’s ninth studio album, due out November 24th. The video for STRONGER revolves around Lebron James’ Nike documentary “More Than a Game.” Check out the video below.

[RANDOM FACT: Chris Brown does backup vocals for this track.]
