UTADA, THE RIHANNA OF JAPAN
By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com
Chemistry like apple & cinnamon.
Although Utada’s music isn’t exactly the most innovative, it definitely delivers.

ON HEAVY ROTATION: LET IT SLIDE by NIKKI FLORES
By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com

Little is known about the whereabouts of Nikki Flores (after an album release in 2007) & although the CD was a little too sugary for my taste, I definitely think Flores could have a lot of potential for pop radio if given the right direction. The track LET IT SLIDE (below) has a tiny touch of Ryan Tedder (Beyonce’s HALO). Check it out!
A FINE FRENZY DOESN’T BOMB WITH SOPHOMORE RELEASE
By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com
A Fine Frenzy is out with BOMB IN A BIRDCAGE, the singer/songwriter’s sophomore disc filled with delicate quirks which made the world take notice of the fiery red head in the first place. An album I highly recommend filled with pretty lyrics and interesting fusions of beats.
Check out my favorite track from the album (the hypnotic STOOD UP) below.
Beneath the steady waves
Of fearless hope & grace
In kindness there is strength

MTV VMA’S 2009: BEYONCE SAVES THE NIGHT, SHOWS HALO

FROM ASS TO CLASS.
To quote Pink–”Kanye is the biggest piece of shit on earth. Quote me.”

Taylor Swift deserved her moment and luckily for her (and the world) Beyonce was there to save the day! While Beyonce took the stage to accept her award for Video of the Year for Single Ladies, the humble singer brought Swift back up to the stage to have the chance to accept her award without being interrupted. Thank God for Beyonce!
I can see your halo B!

I LOVE NEW YORK & IAN AXEL
By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com
Please take a moment of silence to remember 9/11.

LIFE IS SO BEAUTIFUL THAT DEATH HAS BECOME JEALOUS. Has someone hurt you? Have you hurt someone? <--That just sounded like an "Appear on the Maury Show" advert. My bad!
But in all seriousness--let today be a day to break the chains. You are not an immortal vampire from Twilight (dream on tweens!)–life is short. Never hesitate in letting those around you know how you feel. It may be your last chance to say I love you or I forgive you or I’m sorry I screwed up. Every breath is a tiny gift from God. Don’t take it for granted. <--I mean it!
To all the servicemen & firemen who protect each and every one of us daily: THANK YOU.
Now check out a song I've had on repeat for close to a year now. It's a gorgeously stripped pop song with a heart the size of the Big Apple. Watch the video to HOME by Ian Axel (an up & coming singer/songwriter from New York) below.

THE CULT OF MICHAEL JACKSON OPENS CHAPEL IN NEW YORK ON 9/11
By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com
If you’ve ever wanted to sacrifice your hair while drinking Pepsi in memory of Michael Jackon, now is your chance.
I KID!
Kinda.
A few weeks ago, I wrote about the Cult of Michael Jackson because, well, to be honest I thought it was freaky. And after posting the article the Cult emailed me a press release of the Chapel’s opening events:
“Imagine the strife and wars we could solve if we just straightened up and boogied down,” said Rusel Parish, the artist who is now busily designing the chapel. “The Cult of Michael Jackson transcends thousands of years of hate, war, and spiritual prisons of other religions; and instead brings the world into a new order: one of love, soul, funk and pop. We could end the entire world’s suffering and we could literally blame it on the boogie.” <-- TRUE DAT.
The chapel will open during September and October as a place for believers to come, meditate and pay homage to the King of Pop. The opening will be at 6 p.m. on 9.11.09. Come one, come all. Details are as follows:

BEYONCE’S GOT NEW SHOES & AN EXTRA CANDLE ON THE CAKE
By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com
To celebrate B’s 28th, I thought I’d post one of my all-time favorite tracks by her, the unreleased NEW SHOES. This song was definitely on repeat for quite some time after some jerk decided to take my heart, put it in a blender, crush it to pieces, & then flush it down the toilet. Perhaps that was a little dramatic but ya get the point! And hopefully you can relate.
Let NEW SHOES give you the little push you need to move beyond a broken heart.
Listen to the track below.
DISCOVER BODIES
By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com
“I want people to feel elated, I want them to dance, I want them to forget about who they are and where they are for 50 minutes – and, within those 50 minutes of forgetting who they are, I also hope people relate to the songs. This is a record that I’m very proud of – I think it’s fucking brilliant.”
–Robbie Williams
ONE RECORD I AM DYING TO HEAR!
Williams’ album REALITY KILLED THE VIDEO STAR will be available November 9th. Until then, discover BODIES, the fresh off the press single, below.
