By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com
Earlier this year I wrote about Aguilera’s upcoming disc featuring Goldfrapp, Sia, & Ladytron. And now, to add to the list of vagina heavyweights, the beautiful Mom has tapped MIA, LE TIGRE, & SANTIGOLD for the new record.

Sounds like it’s going to be super cool or super weird!
Check out Aguilera explaining the creativity behind the collaborations below.

Jessie James is out with her debut album featuring the hit single WANTED (co-written by Kara DioGuardi from American Idol). The pop/country singer/songwriter has many referring to her as the next Shania Twain.
Do you agree?

BLONDIE, PAT BENATAR, & THE DONNAS ROCK CONEY ISLAND
By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com
Last night I experienced a once in a lifetime event: Blondie & Pat Benatar on the same stage with special guests, The Donnas.
Needless to say, the show was INCREDIBLE! The Donnas opened up the show with attitude, playing a few of their girl rock anthems and ended their set with the headbanger TAKE IT OFF before Benatar appeared. My personal favorite moment from Benatar’s segment was when she said “I don’t care what anyone says, everybody counts. We should all care for each other.” She then proceeded to sing the classic heavyweights WE BELONG, LOVE IS A BATTLEFIELD, & HEARTBREAKER.

I wasn’t sure what to expect after Benatar left the stage and the crowd eagerly waited for Blondie-ness. True to form, the rock star left the crowd yearning for quite some time but once she landed center stage all eyes were glued to her peroxide hair and of course, her leopard skin clothes.
Favorite Blondie Moment: When she came out for an encore and put her spin on Michael Jackson’s “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough”. And to make the concert even more authentic, the show took place in Coney Island–a place real & rough, a place full of magic & mascara, a place that would totally appreciate the grittiness of female rock and roll giants.

ON HEAVY ROTATION: ‘IT’S ALL YOUR FAULT’ by PINK
By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com
If I had a dime for every single time I’ve played this song, I’d be rich.
A pop song about contemplating suicide because of a broken heart. And notice the line “I would NEVER pull the trigger”–no amount of heartbreak is worth losing your life! LIFE GOES ON. And always remember that KARMA DOES EXIST. If someone ruins you for their own SELFISH benefit–don’t worry, they’ll someday have to pay for their actions. Let that put a smile on your face.
Check out the amazing track below.
I conjure up the thought of being gone
But I’d probably even do that wrong
I try to think about which way
Would I be able to or would I be afraid
Cause I’m bleeding out inside
Oh I don’t even mind
///
I’m trying to figure out what else to say
To make you turn around and come back this way
I feel like we could be really awesome together
So make up your mind cause it’s now or never
It’s all your fault
You called me beautiful
You turned me out
And now I can’t turn back
I hold my breath
Because you were perfect
But I’m running out of air
And it’s not fair
///
I would never pull the trigger
But I’ve cried wolf a thousand times
I wish you could
Feel as bad as I do
I have lost my mind
It’s all your fault
PASSION PIT LOSES VIRGINITY TO MTV’S VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS FOR ‘THE REELING’
By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com

I had the pleasure of being in the video for The Reeling and was incredibly proud of the end result (not that I had anything to do with that result, besides dancing like a lunatic and screaming in falsetto “Ohhh noooooooo” about a million times). Directed by Humble, every 10th shot was reprinted on newspaper and then torn and re-shot again, creating a one of a kind visual feast.
“Don’t all those other bands have VMAs already?” drummer Nate Donmoyer joked to MTV on the other acts nominated in the same category for BREAKTHROUGH VIDEO OF THE YEAR. “They have VMAs, Grammys, tons of money — they don’t need this like we do.”
Join me in rooting for the underdogs!

MICHELLE BRANCH RETURNS WITH ‘SOONER OR LATER’
By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com
Michelle Branch is back with a new single, after splitting with Jessica Harp of The Wreckers. The track, SOONER OR LATER, will be released to country radio (and most likely Adult A/C) and will be the lead off Branch’s new album EVERYTHING COMES AND GOES (which will be available in the fall).
It’s the Branch we fell in love with with a hint of sultry twang. And the photograph for the record is, in my opinion, the best shot I’ve ever seen of her.
LESS IS MORE. And Branch always delivers an image and sound that proves this point perfectly.
Update: Watch the official music video to the single below.

Dory said it best in FINDING NEMO–when the going gets tough, you gotta “Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming.”
One of my favorite bands, Jack’s Mannequin, has released a new video to their song SWIM from their album The Glass Passenger. It includes friends & fans, all planted firmly in the video’s message of hope & healing.
Check it out!
