JORDIN SPARKS PROVES TO BE WARRIOR ON BATTLEFIELD

Not since Kelly Clarkson’s sophomore disc Breakaway has an American Idol alum spawned an album as cohesive as Sparks’ Battlefield. It’s been quite some time since a major pop act has released a disc in which every song is polished and single worthy but on Battlefield every track is just as hook driven, well-written, powerfully produced, and vocally pretty as the previous track. Each song without a doubt could easily be released as a single.

Besides being one of the most infectious records of 2009 it also proves that Sparks is a warrior to watch–infusing a sound that rivals any major pop act with whom she may compete with on radio, proving that Sparks is in this for the long haul. She’s paid her dues and has never looked or sounded better.
