BRAD PITT MAY BE SKEPTICAL ABOUT GOD BUT BRANDON HEATH ISN’T

By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com

“I’m probably 20 percent atheist and 80 percent agnostic. I don’t think anyone really knows. You’ll either find out or not when you get there, until then there’s no point thinking about it.”

-Brad Pitt

In what I think could be a desire to spark extra publicity for his new film, Brad Pitt stated that he doesn’t believe in God. I guess he prefers to believe in Jolie’s lips (and well, we really can’t blame him for that, I mean they are good lips).

But while some people live uncertain of the bigger questions, others live in full confidence of their beliefs. One such person is BRANDON HEATH.

Check out one of the most beautiful songs to ever grace your eardrums–the heartfelt I’M NOT WHO I WAS by Brandon Heath (my favorite Christian artist) below.

DAISY DARES YOU IS READY TO BURST AT THE SEAMS

By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com

If it’s true that IMAGE IS EVERYTHING in the world of entertainment, then Daisy Dares You already has it all. Upon first glance one may easily mistake her for a twenty something with her daunting eyes, her Gwen Stefani colored hairdo, and the alluring canvas of her skin–pale in one promo shot, bronzed & golden in another. But when you take a closer look, to the roughness around the edges, you’ll see a vivid artist on the verge of something splendid. And at only 15 years of age (insane in the membrane!), Daisy Dares You has talent beyond her age, ready to burst at the seams.

I’m hoping to eventually meet Daisy when she comes to the States in the fall to work on her debut record (she was recently signed to Jive Records, who discovered Britney Spears!). Until then, check out the lovely hypnotic sound of the up & coming popstress below.

SPENCER PRATT THINKS HEIDI’S BIGGER THAN BEYONCE

By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com

Your “Is he for real?!” moment of the day, month, year, lifetime:

“I’m the white Jay Z, but Heidi’s a little bit more than the white Beyonce. Beyonce had to be built by a group like Destiny’s Child, but Heidi shines solo. I’ll actually give you an exclusive: I could guarantee you Speidi’s ‘Bonnie & Clyde’ version is going to stunt on Jay and B’s version.”

JORDIN SPARKS PROVES TO BE WARRIOR ON ‘BATTLEFIELD’

By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com

Not since Kelly Clarkson’s sophomore disc Breakaway has an American Idol alum spawned an album as cohesive as Sparks’ Battlefield. It’s been quite some time since a major pop act has released a disc in which every song is polished and single worthy but on Battlefield every track is just as hook driven, well-written, powerfully produced, and vocally pretty as the previous track. Each song without a doubt could easily be released as a single.

Besides being one of the most infectious records of 2009 it also proves that Sparks is a warrior to watch–infusing a sound that rivals any major pop act with whom she may compete with on radio, proving that Sparks is in this for the long haul. She’s paid her dues and has never looked or sounded better.

Welcome to the Ivy Leagues Jordin!

Get ready to be drenched!

FEEL GOOD x INFINITY + JACKED ON RED BULL = KID BRITISH

By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com

For all you who may not know, there’s a few new kids on the block. Hailing from Manchester UK, comes Kid British, a singing/songwriting foursome who simply want to put a smile on your face and a boogie in your pants.

“We want to bring a feel good factor with our music. Everyone’s going on about there being a depression. People are talking about the climate like there’s an apocalypse coming. We want to write about what we’ve experienced and what we understand. We think everyone needs to have bit of a laugh.”

WRITE THIS NAME DOWN: TAMAR

By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com

Dude! ——–Check out pop/rock singer/songwriter TAMAR.

She’s easy on the eyes fellas but her soul overpowers her batting eyelashes.

Beautiful. Refreshing. Pure. Not toxic. Stripped down. Moving.

From what I’ve heard so far Tamar (who cites one of her biggest influences to be Billy Joel) could easily careen her way into the jukebox of America if given the proper outlets and chords.

Check out the stunning video for her track PURIFIED below.

JAY-Z + MGMT = GOSSIP GIRL

By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com

B’s man has a new album! The Blueprint 3 (due to drop this fall) will feature collaborations with MGMT, Kid Cudi, Rihanna, and Drake.

From Justin Timberlake to Jay-Z, the BROOKLYN (shout out!) boys of MGMT are becoming victims of pop love. And not just pop music love but pop culture love. The track TIME TO PRETEND has already appeared on the tweentastic GOSSIP GIRL & the UK’s hit series SKINS. It won’t be long until they’re as overplayed as MIA’s Paper Planes.

MGMT has been in the studio as well working diligently on their new album, “Congratulations”, expected to be released in early 2010.

Check out my favorite MGMT track, TIME TO PRETEND (as heard on Gossip Girl) below.

MADONNA & LIL WAYNE BRING OUT THE BIG GUNS

Get ready for A POP SONG EARTHQUAKE!

One new track rumored to be on Madonna’s upcoming Greatest Hits Collection is a feisty pop banger, a track by the name of REVOLVER featuring none other than the current King of Hip Hop Lil Wayne.

Check out the demo to Revolver (NOT Madonna or Lil Wayne’s vocals) below.

I HONESTLY CANNOT GET THIS SONG OUT OF MY HEAD.

Let’s pray that M actually records this single because in my opinion it has the potential to be MASSIVE.

ASHTON KUTCHER + BEAUTIFUL SOUL = LANDON PIGG

By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com

Let go. There’s beauty in the breakdown.

New York based singer/songwriter Landon Pigg will release his sophomore album The Boy Who Never on RCA Records on September 15th 2009. The album was produced by Jacquire King (Modest Mouse, Tom Waits, Kings of Leon). Sounds like a gem to me!

Check out one of my personal favorites from Pigg’s debut disc below.

THE OVERDOSE OF ROBYN

By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com

She’s blonde. She’s fearless. She spews pop.

Robyn and her writing + hooks + visual stylings pack more of a punch than all the packaged new generation Madonnas.

So why isn’t Robyn as suffocating as say Lady GaGa in America? Is it because she adorns a butch blonde crop top and doesn’t walk the streets of London in a bikini? I think that’s a part of it. But where these other pop tarts come away with more (annoying) attention, adorning egos and weaves and rhinestones one can’t help but to see that it’s all a bit phony and contrived.

From what I’ve gathered through the personality of her music Robyn would have none of the contrived fakery. Her look, her sound, her voice–it’s all, simply put, REAL.

And in the long run, Robyn’s genuine art is a beautiful healthy dancefloor drug, NOT A SUGAR PILL.

Check out Handle Me and Cobrastyle below as well as her gorgeous rendition of her single Be Mine live at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert below.

INTRODUCING TWIN ATLANTIC

By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com

Isn’t it ironic (don’t ya think?) that years ago radio would have nothing to do with indie rock stylings but today the charts seem to be filled with rock acts trying to be indie?

If only radio would give other artists a chance–artists like TWIN ATLANTIC–who may not have the powerhouse record label or the generic pop punk sound but definitely have the talent to write and play a good record.

A band you should definitely watch for and check out.

Check out the video to their single What Is Light? Where Is Laughter? below.

RIHANNA IN EMERGENCY ROOM

By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com

Rihanna’s last disc GOOD GIRL GONE BAD yielded 8 top ten hits, including the worldwide smash UMBRELLA with Jay-Z. Needless to say–that’s a lot to follow.

But according to her record label, Rihanna is working on a more rock influenced sound for her new disc.

Below is a demo of Rihanna with Akon for the track EMERGENCY ROOM which needless to say never made its way to life on a Rihanna album. And since the unfortunate events of her personal life with Chris Brown, we definitely see why.

Check out the demo to Emergency Room below.
