KELLY CLARKSON DOES COKE!
By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com
Has everyone’s favorite IDOL (the plump & proud Kelly Clarkson) lost her innocence?
Find out what happens when the Texan (and one of the only pop stars teen girls can idolize) spews a little too much information during a recent interview in Australia…
MY MOM MEETS MILEY CYRUS (OH LORD)
By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com
Hearing Paula Deen’s accent makes me want to jump ship, hijack a taxi cab, or hop on a plane and leave NYC for home–Dirty South represent! So I can clog my arteries with fried green happiness.
Always sure to make you laugh…check out Paula in action meeting that Cyrus girl below.
THE WHITE TIE AFFAIR
By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com
Pure pop with a hint of skater boy.
Coming to you from Chicago is THE WHITE TIE AFFAIR, a pop rock band who has a wide range of influences including: Prince, Stevie Wonder, AFI, and The Police.
The music is hook driven, enough so to land them on an episode of a show in which I hate (so much I refuse to mention it)–the show, clearly stirring up much needed attention for the band who seems to be having a hard time taking off.
Check out TAKE IT HOME below.
PS: The show is on MTV and rhymes with PILLS!
COUNTRY AT ITS FINEST
By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com
Lee Ann Womack, the country crooner who brought you the sweet moving ballad I HOPE YOU DANCE has a new track up her sleeve.
Well, newish. OK so it’s not exactly new but not ancient either. FACT: It was released in June of last year, but to be honest I just recently discovered the track because of her work with rock n roll band THRIVING IVORY (lead singer Clayton Stroope is featured as Womack’s lover in the video).
Check out the heartspun LAST CALL by Womack below.
SHIA LABEOUF IS SCREWED UP
By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com
“The good actors are all screwed up. They’re all in pain. It’s a profession of bottom-feeders and heartbroken people…I’m trying to understand it and find the answers. I don’t have them now. Why did the love of my life and I break up? … Man, I have no idea. What was that all about? I have no answers to anything. None. What is life about? I don’t know.”
-SHIA LABEOUF from the new issue of PARADE MAGAZINE
In case you’re wondering–Shia Labeouf does tie into the music industry. Not one to hide his love of indie rock, Shia has worked and directed several music videos with some up and coming acts. Check out the super dark, hauntingly manic video for CAGE’s track I NEVER KNEW YOU, directed by Shia below.
TINA PAROL: THE NEW BLACK (OR CRACK)
By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com
Welcome to the world of pop Tina Parol.
The oh so NOT SHY singer/songwriter from New York lists artists such as Debbie Harry, Pat Benatar, Chrissie Hynde, & Joan Jett among her influences.
In my opinion, this girl has all the elements needed to make a first impression in pop–a free spirited funky personality, attitude, and most importantly well written songs with equally addictive hooks. Tina Parol is the new black. Or crack. Either way, we are wearing her proud.
Her debut album Shrinking Violet is due out in the fall. Check out the polished first single (near the end of the song you’ll hear a voice in the back yell “You’re broke!” and it always makes me laugh), WHO’S GOT YOUR MONEY, below.
SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE (SORRY, YOU’RE NOT OLD ENOUGH)
By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com
Although I do not seem to have time to watch this season’s SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE, I did happen to catch this audition and immediately fell in love with the music (as well as this dude’s brilliant skills, beautiful)…
Check out his audition below.
He was rejected because he didn’t meet age requirements to compete but since his dancing interpretation was so convincingly moving, the judges, well, just watch to see what happens next!
The music featured in the performance above is a band by the name of DAPHNE LOVES DERBY, an indie rock band from Kent, Washington. Check out their semi-depressing (yet without a doubt pretty) song POLLEN AND SALT below.
BEYONCE + GEORGE MICHAEL = WELCH’S JUICE?
By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com
George Michael reminds me of my childhood. He also reminds me of public…um, well you get the point. But when you add Beyonce to the mix for some reason it just works. Maybe it’s because whenever you add Beyonce to any mix it always turns out great. You could add Beyonce to bleach and it would sell like hot cakes and probably taste better than fresh squezed lemonade from a kid cuter than those old Welch’s commercials–remember those? [See Below]
Check out Old George and B in action, when he showed up for a surprise appearence during her I AM tour at the 02 Arena in London.

This video makes me happy.
Congrats!!!
In case you are unaware who these two are, check out RIN ON THE ROX in previous posts (I’ve been supporting these two for forever now).
PS: Those outfits they have on are from the Chinese restaurant in which they are currently employed–down to earth and adorable.
MISSY HIGGINS IS A HEARTBREAKER
By: Rob Brayl

This song always breaks my heart, never fails, each and every single time I hear it.
Check out the Austalian singer/songwriter Missy Higgins below singing her hit WHERE I STOOD.
BATTLEFIELD COMES TO LIFE. SORTA.
By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com
Check out Jordin Sparks just released video for her POPGASMIC (says Darren Hayes, and we agree) single BATTLEFIELD.
The video is good and Jordin looks great but personally, I was expecting a little more. Perhaps a steamy dude in armour and blood? A fight scene? Yes, it’s literal and I’m partially joking but basically I was expecting a little more bubbly angst…and a leading man would’ve been a good asset to the shot.
Nonetheless, it’s an ok video so check it!
MILEY CYRUS + METROSTATION = WTF
By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com
Trace Cyrus (Miley’s emotastic bro, see below) is a member of the band METROSTATION. I dig Miley. I dig Metrostation. But when it was announced on Miley’s glitter bombed website that she would be touring with her brother’s band I immediately said–WHAT THE HELL?
Will an arena filled with 12 year olds (AKA Hannah Montana wannabes) be thrilled when a bunch of skinny dudes with facial piercings get on stage and rock out with their tatts out? HMMM, I’m gonna have to say no to that one!
Check out METROSTATION’s huge hit SHAKE IT below.
RIN ON THE ROX IS BACK!
By: Rob Brayl
For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com
A couple months ago, I introduced the YouTube sensations RIN ON THE ROX. Click here, in case you missed it.
Now the duo, who also caught the attention of Ellen Degeneres (see clip below), finally have a single that isn’t a cover of a pop song in their bathroom–and it’s amazing!
Check out the duo that you just want to put in your pocket (on the Ellen show) then take a listen to TORTURE, the debut single, (please support the ladies by purchasing the single on ITUNES or Amazon) below.
SEE, EVEN SOLDIERS LOVE LISA LOEB!

For BiggerThanBeyonce.Com

I am not alone (duh) in my adoration of The Loeb. Check out this soldier in Kuwait singing the classic Loeb jam STAY!
Then, listen to my all time Loeb favorite, SANDALWOOD (this song never gets old–stunningly beautiful) below.
